Versatile Award-Winning Festival Tents… Geodesic Engineering for Portability and Strength

Festival tents are a very important consideration in planning any successful outdoor event.  When it comes to handling extremes in wind and weather, geodesic dome festival tents are the strongest, portable structure known to man.  Dome festival tents combine the architectural genius of R. Buckminster Fuller with the geodesic engineering strength of steel frames to create an attractive fully deployable event shelter.  Portable domes go up quickly with hand ratcheting tools and are suited to all types of terrains.  The spacious frame structure accommodates heating and cooling systems and the overhanging truss system becomes the perfect housing for 360⁰ lighting and sound to capture a fully immersive audience experience.  Domes have a superior capacity for projection and lighting innovation and the spherical design naturally amplifies sound.  There are no center beams to interfere with staging.

Technological advances in outdoor sound and lighting have taken contemporary outdoor events to a whole new level of spectacular entertainment.  Fifteen plus years ago, Obscura Digital was born from within the heart of Pacific Domes, a futuristic dome manufacturing company based in Ashland, Oregon.  The first step towards exploring the benefits and versatility of geodesic domes begins by browsing the large selection of new and used festival tents available at Pacific Domes events gallery.

Biosphere Dome Projects… Meeting the Challenge thru Mycoremediation

“Nature is trying very hard to make us succeed, but nature does not depend on us. We are not the only experiment.” R. Buckminster Fuller (Visionary Architect & Engineer of the Geodesic Dome)

Biosphere Dome Projects are rising to meet the challenge of creating global environmental solutions to some of the complexities of living responsibly in our modern world through self-sustaining Biosphere Domes, BioDomes & BioEnergy Dome Villages. Pacific Domes, an award winning futuristic dome company, based in Ashland, Oregon, manufactures Biosphere Domes. One of the challenges of growing in enclosed systems lies in balancing the exchange of gases between the ecosystems and atmosphere, notably oxygen and carbon dioxide.

Pacific Domes, in concert with MycoRiseUp.Com, has joined the growing ranks of supporters in championing the research work of “Mycofiltration” and "Mycoremediation" pioneered by the world renowned, mycologist, Paul Stamets (see link below). Mycofiltration involves the use of mycorrhizal fungal mats as biological filters. Mycoremediation is the cultivation of mushrooms to assist with restoration, replenishment and remediation of overburdened ecosystems. Through earth based science, Biosphere Dome Projects are forging a new era of commitment to integrating the innate Intelligence found in Nature’s self-sustained ecosystems.

Impacting Planetary Change through the Magic of Multimedia Projection!

“Animation can explain whatever the mind of man can conceive and
it’s kind of fun to do the impossible" - Walt Disney

Driven by a desire to spark collective movements, the Obscura Digital team ‘Thinks Big’ when scaling tall buildings and bringing historic monuments to life such as the Empire State Building, a large-scale feat of light and technology “Illuminating the Plight of Endangered Species”.  Obscura Digital is a multi-media projection company and change-agent calling attention to some of the most pressing planetary issues facing future generations and millions of species evolving on Earth.  The digital media landscape is having a direct impact on the dream for a better world, thanks to visionary entertainment design companies, such as Obscura Digital.  Fifteen plus years ago, Travis Threlkel called Pacific Domes to test his camera. Christoper Lejeune and Threlkel talked for hours and Lejeune went to San Francisco to bring him a dome. They became great friends and partnered to co-found Obscura Digital. With uncompromising quality in large-scale projections, Obscura Digital has been on the cutting-edge, leading the way in partnership with forward-thinking pioneers and impacting various global arenas.  When it comes to creating themes & bringing them to life, the Obscura Digital close-knit family of artists, producers, coders, builders, and technologists blend their talents and genius into a unified collaborative creative vision.  “Once you break out of the rectilinear format, the observer is more open to understanding the heart of a message.  With projection you can influence people to see things in new ways,” says Threlkel, co-founder of Obscura Digital.

Nike Track Lab Dome

Nike “Track Lab” shined in a spectacular multi-media Dome, custom designed by Pacific Domes. The elegant dome drew spectators to Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon. The Nike "Track Lab” Dome was a colossal event display featuring the famous American manufacturer’s line of Nike advanced footwear, running gear and athletic apparel.  More recently, Nike’s tradition of ‘exceeding the vision of what’s possible’ has won the company recognition as the World’s Most Innovative Company in 2015.

The multi media dome caught everyone's eye. When it comes to advertising and marketing, Nike’s commercials have recruited some famous NBA and PGA athletes promoting Nike products and the research behind the Nike trademark.

The Nike Sport Research Lab opened in 1980 as a research and development institute located in Beaverton, Oregon owned by Nike.  At the "secret" facilities—underground research labs, high-tech training centers, Nike scientists unlock athlete insights in collaboration with talented designers to create the most technologically advanced footwear, apparel and equipment for superior performance by athletes.
At the Oregon Project, Nike aims to outfit the US marathon team one high tech step at a time.  Inside an Olympic-style training camp, corporate scientists are reengineering neuro-mechanics, blood chemistry, and brain waves.  Nike Inc. has pledged a whopping $13.5 million toward renovations of track and field facilities at the University of Oregon, intended to finance necessary upgrades that would facilitate the hosting of the 2021 World Track & Field Championships in Eugene.
